The staff is wonderful. The MD on site is nice, but I am a very knowledgeable individual when it comes to MAT and recovery, and I moved here from alaska on a stable dose at 35 weeks pregnant, and after VBMC and BHG in Chesapeake wouldn’t take me in as a patient because my dose was to high, I needed up with AATC in NN, but the MD cut my dose significantly and basically said the dose he put me in was all I was going to get. Because I went to the state licensing board and filed a complaint, I was able to increase slightly back towards my stable dose. Still not where I need to be, but better than being turned away like I was at the other clinics. Virginia doesn’t have “dose caps” and I was told they wouldn’t tolerate it. Basically a lot of the doctors at the local MMT clinics here in the Hampton Roads area are capping patients, which isn’t right. Everyone metabolizes MMT differently, therefore no one should be capped at a specific dose. Anyway, I drive across the water everyday because this clinic has been very helpful. I prefer to go to a closer clinic, but I choose quality of care over convenience. My counselor is great and the nursing staff is as well.

Horrible place to work! Blamed other co-worker's mistakes on me when those things weren't even my responsibility. Fired me because patients were being very flirty with me but I ignored them and kept very professional. They did not want to lose out on money from patients by discharging them for such behaviors, so they fired me instead. These people are very unprofessional and do not have the patients best interest at heart. They just want the money and they make up their own rules. The counselors sleep in their offices when they should be meeting with patients and they sit around and make fun of people about their situations. Find a real addiction treatment center and not some fly by night place.

I would suggest anyone to go here only!! I've been through HELL with BHG all due to not being able to take my seizure meds & it's been a unfair nightmare since. I was doing great with 4 take homes until ANOTHER policy changed! THIS PLACE TRULY CARES & HELPS WHILE ALLOWING YOU TO TAKE NEEDED MEDS!! FAST & ORGANIZED SYSTEM!!

I was clean 2 years and my sister died and I started to use again and they through me away like garbage they were very unfair they put unreasonable expectations on me if I wanted to come back they said they would put me through a 10 day detox at 160 mg then I would have to go to a grievance counselor a drug counselor and come back to them clean with nothing at all in my system that included Methadone and Suboxone. I used 20 years prior to all of this I mind you. The nurse practitioner that put all these unreasonable demands on me was very rigid and passive and judge mental as well. Oh and on top of everything else they counted my prescription meds every single day and constantly felt likethey had to reassure me that they weren’t picking on me when I found out there were others on the same exact meds I’m on and had been there years longer than me never had a pill count ever!!! So when it comes down to it when I fell and needed them most they judged me picked on me and through me away like garbage I was on the streets two months after that trying to find another clinic which I’m now in only it’s 72 miles one way to get there when it was 40 miles one way to the one that threw me away!!!
