This golf course use to be one of the best in the country (held NZ Open and designed by Bob Charles) and I have always enjoyed playing it. However over time the course has deteriorated due to lack of investment in the course and the club being unable to maintain enough members to keep it in prime condition. The course is a very good challenge with 4 tee boxes and amazing views especially on the back 9. Its a shame this has happened to the course, though hopefully over time the course maybe brought back to a better standard. For the price its still a great course to enjoy the views and the quietness of being out in the country. You can easily get on for a round anytime.
Food and service was great. Be good to add another couple of options to the sides on the menu as 3/4 of them are potatoes.
Didn't think much of the accommodation. Things not working like some of the lights etc. The bed was hard and we had an awful sleep. Air con unit was noisey as well. Water pressure in shower was almost a dribble. Wouldnt recommend. They sure need to step up there game, place needs a face lift!!

Great golf, breakfast was good, golf course is improved out of sight, dinner was great, food was excellent, waitress Emma was an asset to our night, will be back again
Formosa has always been one of my favourite courses, played out there on Sunday, new owners now and the greens have been brought back into great condition probably running at 8 and plans are to get them up to 9.5! kiwi owned now Most bunkers still gut but with more investment it will be great again.
