Had a great night here. Big group of motorcyclists from CHCH. Classic Character old pub. Basic, comfortable and value for money. Very good meals, well priced drinks, friendly staff with personalities

Its a rough pub with character. Friendly staff, basic but tasty food. I suppose combined that's what makes it good place for a drink. Nothing false or pretentious.

A quaint old pub right in the middle of Blackball. Owners were very friendly and the beer, with Tui on tap!.. quenched our parched throats. A lovely watering hole.

This character Hotel was just what the doctor ordered on a hot hot day in the south. Quick service and super chilled beers at fair prices. We couldn’t ask for more

A great historic pub loads if history with photos all around. We enjoyed good food, I can recommend the venison pie in front of the fire, with a glass of wine, an excellent way to spend a wet afternoon.

The meals were lovely. The coffee, as good as anywhere. The food was very nicely presented. But. For me. I would have loved vege not vinegar doused salad with my lamb as my evening meal after a busy day on cresseys track. I burned up nearly 4000 calories that day. And sadly. We paid top dollar for not so top notch service.
