Magnomics is a biotech start-up, established in 2013, with the aim of creating the new generation of molecular diagnostic devices, with applications in human health, veterinary health, and in the food industry. As an academic spin-off, Magnomics is the result of more than ten years of research and development in nanotechnology, physics, biotechnology and electronics, from top Portuguese research institutions. Currently, our main goal is to prototype and commercialize a fully portable and easy to use device that identifies bacteria and their antibiotic resistance profiles from any biological sample, starting with an application in the veterinary market: bovine mastitis, an ailment that affects dairy cows.
