They upgraded me, even when I didn't accept their upgrade and they don't help you when you call them. MTN says I need to deal with them directly to cancel the contract, which is tourniquet out to be a big task

DO NOT TRUST THESE PEOPLE. GO DIRECTLY TO MTN, DO NOT ALLOW YOURSELF TO BE UPGRADED THROUGH SUMMER MOBILE. After 2 months, I am paying for a phone that I never received. The service is really bad. I get a contradictory story each time I call.
I am more than disgusted with service received from Summer Mobile. they called me in May for an upgrade and it is now August and i have not received the new phone. Their courier company made an attempt to contact me once but i was not available that day to accept the phone. i told them to call back the next day and they never did. They returned the phone to the warehouse. Then a few weeks later after i have tried various times to speak to them but to no avail, I get a call from someone asking me if i received my phone. Of Course i have not I told them so they told me it is because I want the rose pink color. I never selected a color initially as this was not even discussed with me and rose color is the last color I would want. I told them I don't care about the color just deliver a phone. Well they have been deducting from my account since May for the new phone but I dont have a phone. This is fraud. I am more than tired of fighting and don't know what more to do. My next step is to go to the media - 94.7 and the newspapers. Liz Pereira - very upset customer
AVOID THIS COMPANY AT ALL COSTS!!! I was called by SummerMobile to upgrade my contract. But the agent calling (Mohamed Khan) told me he was calling from "MTN Head Office", which is a lie. Later in the call I asked whether it was the MTN Direct division that I was speaking to, and he said that MTN Direct is their call centre, but he was calling from "MTN". Then I was repeated told that the upgrade to a new handset will be "on the same package I am currently on" - which was another lie. At NO point in the first 12 minute sales call was I told that the contract was a 36-month contract, as opposed to the 24-month contract I am currently on. Even when I was sent an email about the phone options I asked about, there was NO mention of 36-months. On the follow up / closing sales call I didn't hear the mention of 36-months since this was only mentioned in the ramble (said very very quickly) 8 minutes into the 10 minute call as part of the T&C's. I only realised this after requesting the voice recordings afterwards and listening very carefully. When I received the contract via email from MTN I saw it was 36-months. I immediately called them to cancel. That was almost 4 weeks ago and I still haven't had any success in spite of repeated calls to their call centre. Twice I was promised a call back, which of course never happened. They have told me that they can't provide a date by when this will be cancelled. Which is very convenient for them but not for me - since I am now alreading being billed on this new contract with no new handset (since I told the courier not to deliver it because I am in progress with a cancellation). Even dealing with a lady called Yumnah Nazier in their "Customer Service", who seems to be a supervisor or manager, has not helped. DO NOT TAKE A CONTRACT WITH SUMMERMOBILE - once the sale is concluded they do not care about providing you with any sort of service. Rather go to MTN directly.
AVOID! Terrible company! Been messing a friend of mine around for ages!
Bunch of crooks they phone you to offer an upgrade then when you refuse the offer the keep it open on their side so you cant upgrade at another supplier of your choosing
