The first part 'Tri'​ makes reference to the three actions involved in the application (Snap, Share and Reward). The second part 'Shakr'​, pronounced shaker, was adapted from the word shake. Shake is an informal unit of time which has its application in nuclear physics, helping to conveniently express the timing of various events in a nuclear explosion.
