Absolutely steep climb that got us panting heavily all the way up! Remember to bring some water as you will definitely need it when you get to the top. We took the steeper route up which rewarded us with a breathtaking (literally!) view. Some people took rest halfway and had a mini picnic overlooking chch below, you could bring some snacks if you find it hard to continue the climb.

Pretty intense hike from Lyttelton, but worth the view across both Lyttelton and Christchurch

Bridle path is a good walk for those looking to increase fitness, be sure to take a water bottle or beer to "re-hydrate"

Great walk up the Bridle Path to this fantastic Memorial. Great views over Christchurch right out to the Kaikoura Coast and to Lyttelton and Banks Penisula in the other direction. Great at sunset.

Great little walk with great views. It's steep track whether you approach from the Lyttleton or Christchurch side, but short. About 25 mins from small car-park next to Christchurch Gondola.

Visited as a result of taking the gondala to the peak and continued with walk down into Lyttelton. Lovely views from the memorial. A really nice way to spend a couple of hours.

Great views over Lyttleton and Christchurch. Well worth the grunt up the Bridle path to get there
