Arriving from Lake Como or Trivio di Fuentes, the Val Lesina is the first important valley that you reach when entering the Valtellina region. The Val Lesina is a narrow and steep incision that from the town of Delebio (Province of Sondrio) rises rapidly towards the watershed shared with the Val Varrone in the province of Lecco. The valley is crossed by an extensive network of walking paths, made up of old mule tracks used by the inhabitants of Piantedo, Delebio, Andalo and Rogolo to reach the alpine fields. One of these tracks is still in excellent condition. It takes you from a height of 220 meters above sea level at Delebio to the summit of Monte Legnone (the highest mountain in the province of Lecco) at over 2600 meters. Because the valley is part of the Regional Park of the Valtellina Orobies its protection is guaranteed and allows you to find a great variety of fauna and flora.
