If you are used to driving in small rural areas, I would recommend that you read your self up on the Italian motorway. Driving there can be a real pain. In Norway every «toll-passing» is automaticly registered and you get the bill in the mail afterwards. As an tourist in Italy its hard to understand where to drive and where to pay and what to pay with. If you drive in the wrong lane/booth you’re stuck and have to reverse out of there. Not very popular with the locals who use the horn like they are playing in a marching band. And by the way, if you have no other option, and have to drive here. Do NOT rent a Fiat Panda. Its like riding a donkey into battle in Game Of Thrones. You gonna get slaughtered.
