Well preserved old castle, restored and multi-purposed serving the whole area with arts displays, a room for local events such as a rose show when I was there, and vast open areas. The views are spectacular. A must see when in Dolceacqua. Tickets are inexpensive and well worth the price.

We didn't get to the castle, but we had lovely walk. I haven't seen so tall medieval villages before. Very charming streets full of picturesque views.
I was really impressed by the old town. Yes, one location that I really recommend to visit.
A small town 10 km north of Ventimiglia, the old part of town has sold castle looking down from a hill side. Walking around Dolceacqua is amazing narrow paths behind buildings, under buildings gives a vibe of the past on how to life would have been in medieval town. There are snap shops, galleries in these narrow paths. Dolceacqua is more than a castle and a old town, Dolceacqua is famous for its olive oil EVO one of best all of Liguria abd the Rossese grapes that only grows in two valleys and is delicious, a must to taste on your food bucket list. The olive oil and wine is available in the old shops, get the Rossese that been in Oak casket for at least one year.
Stunning 13th century castle set high upon the hill overlooking this lovely village! Monet even painted the Castello and the bridge.
A wonderful medieval castle with lots of history that you can read as you go as it has plaques on the walls with information. You can go down to the dungeons or up to the top.
Castle looks great from a main square, but from near it does not make any special impression. 9 EUR for the entrance makes people not to go inside. Even guides say to people it is not worth. However, the beautiful town is really worth visiting.
A very attractive castle the monet exhibition was an added bonus. The views of surrounding country side and town are breath taking
