I received my undergrad and graduate degree from GVU. Great school, small class sizes and professors care about their students.

Completely my home away from home. Grand View is outstanding for adults who desire to go back to school. The professors are personable, understanding, and more than accommodating. I’ve had to bring my toddler to class with me on several occasions without so much as a second glance from instructors! My advisor is amazingly helpful and wants all of his advisees to succeed. I love the small class sizes and the professor to student ratio is spot on! Even in classes where I have struggled, I was given the extra help I needed because I feel the priority of the staff is having their students do well! I am a veteran and processing my education benefits has always been effortless. There are so many clubs, organizations, and extracurricular activities, students should have no problem finding their niche and becoming comfortable. Reading the few negative reviews sounds more like a reflection of the type of student attending the institution; not the school itself!

The friendly receptionist at the Student Center was very helpful even though we weren't sure who we were looking for. The other staff we interacted with once we found the right person were all helpful and respected the social distancing policies in place and we had engaging conversations and got to experience their very modern video studio complete with a large green screen and high end cameras and microphones.

Instructors are pretty good, but the business office and guidance counselors are a nightmare! I withdrew from a term due to health problems but they kept me enrolled, and gave me F grades even though I was not attending class. Then to top it off they canceled my student loans, then charged me for the term. The guidance counselor argued with me about not withdrawing, but I did although it was over the phone due to my back being broke at the time. I talked to the Vice President to no avail either. It stayed on my credit for 7 years and it is still haunting me. NOT TO MENTION I HAD A 3.8 ACCUMULATIVE GPA, AND 4 YEARS UNDER MY BELT PRIOR TO THIS TERM, AT THIS INSTITUTION. GRANDVIEW RUINED MY 4 YEAR GPA, RUINED MY CREDIT, AND WAS THE VERY REASON I QUIT COLLEGE ALTOGETHER! THEY DO NOT UNDERSTAND HEALTH PROBLEMS. THEY DO NOT BELIEVE THEIR STUDENTS OR LISTEN TO THEM. THEY DO NOT HELP VERY MUCH WITH SECURING AN INTERNSHIP. THEY WILL STAND BEHIND THEIR NAME AND FACULTY BEFORE ME THEIR STUDENT. I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS SCHOOL. I HAVE BEEN TO 2 OTHER SCHOOLS, ON THE DEANS OR PRESIDENTS LIST EVERY TERM, AND NEVER HAD THE PROBLEMS I HAD AT GRANDVIEW UNIVERSITY. I WAS A SCHOLAR WHO REALLY ENJOYED SCHOOL, AND I WAS IN MY 30'S SO I WAS A MUTURE STUDENT AS WELL. This was my unsatisfactory experience at Grandview University in Des Moines so good luck!

I just finished my Freshman year at Grand View and highly recommend it. The staff is so friendly and focused on building a community feel for their students. The class sizes are small and the professors for the most part are all relational and focused on your success.
