Halal food stall available near gate 17. Acceptable service from Air China. Cold passage as there is still no direct boarding and buses transport passengers, and sometimes the driver keeps the doors open in the freezing weather while waiting for passengers to fill the bus.

It is not the most exciting airport, but its functional. It has quite a number of domestic flights, connecting to more major transport hubs, as I do not believe that there is a substantial amount of international flights. Some, but definitely not many to choose from. Being in the north, this airport is quite susceptible to bad weather, as that was what happen to yours truly. Having spent a good number of hours due to the delay, I probably covered most of the secure area of the terminal. There are a few shops selling local food specialties, a few F&B outlets, and some convenience store type kiosks. Really nothing much to do if you get stuck here, fortunately the terminal is quite clean, seating were plentiful, and it wasn't super hard to locate power outlets.
Nice and clean... Not like the advanced airports of major cities of China but this airport is attractive and not so crowded.. Also you will find some shops inside where you can enjoy your meal and can buy some souvenirs for your family and friends
Gas up here before going to Kunming.

As of June 2018, I like the remodelling work they did in the last year. Signs are getting a lot clearer. The best way to get there is to take the airport shuttle from the city, which costs 20 RMB. If you take a taxi, it would cost around 100 to 150 RMB.
Good small airport. Not too long of waiting lines. Can find all necessary stuff there. Also an airport bus gets you into the city and back for only 20 RMB.
