Waited 10 minutes before staff came to check people in, was told there's a 10-15 minute wait. Waited 15 minutes outside until the party in front of us was seated, went inside and waited another 20 minutes in front of the check in area, before I was able to get any staff to acknowledge us. Was told by manager it was a blunder on their part, and because of the wait, the meal would be taken care of. So almost an hour of waiting before getting seated. At the end nothing was discounted and no manager was available, so I just paid for everything....just couldn't wait longer.

Ok, so I'm finally expressing my thoughts about this place after eating here roughly a dozen times now which isn't that often over the last maybe 6-7 years now. My folks actually had a spot up in Wauwatosa ran by Chinese (which closed over a year ago) that they started going to over 15 years ago which was as close to authentic as they had in Japan when my father was stationed there in the navy. They got me hooked as well but driving a lil over 50 miles north and west isn't excuse enough just for Mongolian BBQ. Only once or 2X a year is good by me. With Hu Hot being a 20 minute ride from my house in Beach Park across the border in Lake County, the taste is definitely worth it at least every other month. Venue is always kept clean/sanitized, friendly staff, there's a bar, pricing here is reasonable for a buffet and best of all the extensive ingredients selection from the meats, noodles, veggies and sauces/oils are tops over the previous MBBQ place I favored. Definitely a fun place to eat especially when a cook shouts out "HOW HOT!?!" and the others go "HU HOT!?!". I like this taste and a few others in the family especially my wife's family whenever they visit from Honduras, enjoy it. I suppose many people from the orient will pass up on it assuming it's the McD's of Mongolian BBQ but leave them be. When it comes to food it's all about what you like, I definitely do get a craving for Hu Hot from time to time and have continued to support them thru this terrible pandemic. If you've never been here then give it a try, you won't be disappointed.

Food was great. Lots of different choices. Staff was on top of keeping things cleaned and filled. Cooks showed off some awesome tricks for my son on the grill

As much as I love the food here, being a regular weekend customer. Covid has made a huge difference with customer service, they are constantly short staff and cooks, it’s been maybe 4 Sundays having to wait for 30 minutes or more to be checked in and another 20 minutes to finally sit down and have food ready. Staff is poorly trained and everyone moves very slow. Maybe it’s time they pay a better rate for employees to stay and perform better. When manager is around things move way faster, but he is a multitask team player and he’s not always around. If this keeps going, unfortunately our family of 6 will have to find a better favorite place to eat out. :(

I figured while I'm waiting for my food, I'd write a review. My 1st plate was absolutely delicious, great selection of food available to be cooked on there grill.....Lots of sauces to choose from, some are pretty spicy....which I love. This is my 1st time here and certainly not disappointed. I hope to come back soon. Wanted to also mention that Service was amazing here from the waitress to the guys working the grill....all very pleasant. All Covid Pandemic Guidelines were being followed as well.

Was very good! I went with Thai noodles, beef , broccoli and topped it with teriyaki sauce , would recommend 10/10

HuHot was Hotshot. Normally we love it. Not a great experience on this visit to HuHot. We arrived before the dinner rush and, despite that, tables needed to be bussed -- generally messy. Service was also substandard. Maybe I'm missing something, but it's essentially a buffet. How can service possibly be poor when there's little do do -- still what needs to be done isn't getting done?
