Very interesting and original place. Make sure to get the audio tour and listen to the description of the art pieces. Spend the time visiting all the floors of the museum as each one is exceptional. The church next to the museum is also amazing. The audio gives you more details which are very fascinating. Don’t miss this jewel of Innsbruck!

Interesting museum for sure. Worth the visit to check out all of the old artifacts from Austrian life. The have a rotating exhibit on the 3rd floor too. It was about smoking on my trip. Fun to walk into al the old, wooden parlors too. Connected to the Church, so easy to do both in one.

Super interesting museum: besides a huge collection of everyday objects and furniture, it has an amazing set of 19 “parlours”, the wood-paneled reception rooms where families received people into their homes and spent most of the time in, from Gothic to Baroque period. It’s an eerie and immersive experience to be in them, perfectly reconstructed. Speaking of immersion, the museum does a great job in creating an atmosphere by grouping objects (and human-sized figures) to tell the story of the periods, and it’s right next door to the Court Church (with the “black statues”), including a passage that allows for a view from the choir of the church. Super recommended!

Unfortunately I didn't hear or see any info about the audio guides when I arrived at the museum, so I just went in without one assuming it'd be like a regular museum. Unfortunately the written information is very limited, so I ended up spending a lot of time looking at things without knowing what they were (since most objects only have a number and no description beyond a name) and only found out about the audio info when it was too late.

For who is interested in folclore and Tyrol style of living, this is a great museum! I truly recommend it!

Probably one of my favorite museums ever. Most people only see the first floor and go straight to the church. Dont make this mistake! The top two floors are fantastic to see and was empty of people when I went.

We had the combo ticket so we visited this interesting museum. It has a huge collection of old artifacts, objects and the \ Stube \ the typical wood paneled rooms where families spent most of their time. Descriptions are in Italian, English and German. Worth a visit !

Only went because I had the combi ticket, but thought it was brilliant. Little English translation, but great design and layout of exhibitions! Especially loved the last will of Maxillian, very atmospheric.
