It was a wonderful experience to see the Chinese ancient city architectures. At the same time, trying out the local food, arts and crafts. Over all, very good place to visit for the families.

A beautiful historical city centre. A single ticket grants access to all major attractions including the city wall. Even in this season (July), it is pretty crowded with tourists. However, most tourists are Chinese tourists and not a lot of foreigners tourists are to be seen this time of year.

The view is really nice from the wall and walking at the sunset, before closing is very pleasant. Not hot, not crowded. Unfortunately, at this time a big part of the wall is closed. I suggest the south entrance that is the nicest.

Spectacular history. So much to see here. Allow at least one whole day to see this ancient city, that is so well preserved. The tourist facilities within the city walls are organized very well and in a way that blends in with the city. This is a very unique window into history.
