Established since 2011, we are Singapore’s finest Jeet Kune Do school. Our roots date back to the early 2000s when our founding mentor, Sigung Mark Stewart introduced the art to Singaporeans during a time when legitimate instructors were a scarcity here. In fact, authentic second-generation students of Bruce Lee are still a rare breed and we are proud to uphold that lineage as a united tribe of devoted practitioners. Jeet Kune Do, being the martial art and lifework of Bruce Lee, was a constant process of development for its founder up to his untimely death in 1973. That being said, there were several stages of that development. At JKDS, we focus solely its final stage of evolution — termed as “Latter Stage” JKD. Unlike many other variants of modern day JKD, “Latter Stage” is streamlined, simplified and unrehearsed. It was preserved by Lee’s protégé, Ted Wong who in turn was Sigung Mark’s teacher, and eventually taught to us. We strive not for quantity, but for quality. It is our belief that JKD cannot be imparted to and is not for a mass number of people, but only for the select few that are willing to dedicate the time and effort to learn, express and pass on the beautiful and unique art that is Jeet Kune Do. With us, JKD is not only a practical and intelligent self-defense approach to the streets — it has also become a form of self-discipline, a personal philosophy and a way of life.
