Solid restaurant with good service. I passed by this place twice based on the outdoor menu (flaffel and burgers). Also, the reviews on service were a concern. I stopped and found a much larger menu than imagined (pizza, cold and warm appetizers, and a lot more) as well as a better than average beer selection for a Swiss restaurant. Upon entering, I asked in German if they had an open table and they sent a waiter asking if I preferred to order in German or English. Don't let the bad service reviews scare you away, this place is a solid selection in Kandersteg and is open very late by Swiss standards (11pm).

4 star pizza, 0 star service. The staff were very cold and unwelcoming. They messed up my order, they had added olives which I did not order. When we called them over to ask about it they were unapologetic saying, "can't he just eat it". The cook came over and was rushing us for an answer on whether we want him to redo it. I ended up just picking out the olives but was not happy with how they handled it.
Great to be able to make your own pizza with fresh ingredients. A few more options (eg rauchlachs) would gain it the extra star. The wine Menu (eg Nero D'avola) is basic but good value for money.
We stayed at the hotel for NYE and went to the restaurant on the night of the 31/12. While the food was good, the service was extremely bad. Beer spilled by the waitress on the table and we had to ask ourselves for new napkins and very unfriendly staff that made us feel uncomfortable. Once we finished the main plate, no one asked whether we wanted a coffee/dessert or if we wanted to pay. We asked the latter but the waitress did not (want to) hear us. Avoid this restaurant if you want to stay in a good mood after your meal. Service is hard to digest
