名神で大阪へ行く場合、渋滞や下道で時間がかかるケースが多い。こちらのインターからとどろみの道を通過して新御堂へ入ればほぼノンストップで新大阪付近まで走れるという利便性がある。距離はこちらの方が長いが、渋滞等が嫌いな方にお勧めである。
