Ubi Car

It's an important Roman town, with one of best preserved Isis and Serapis temples in Italy. Thousands of copper religious Statuettes are in the Museo di Antichità of Turin. It's beautiful, and what you see is just a tenth of this ancient \Pompeii\ (on one ended the excavations)

Luogo molto interessante e guide preparatissime. L'associazione che gestisce il sito archeologico cerca di fare il possibile, ma in un paese a cui non interessa sviluppare la cultura è molto dura. Nel mio piccolo cercherò di aiutare la suggestiva Industria organizzando visite al suo interno.

Il parco archeologico non è certamente imponente come altri più famosi ma trovo comunque suggestivo pensare che in quest'area, tra il Po e i boschi delle colline del Monferrato un tempo sorgesse una fiorente città romana. Particolarmente interessante che nelle botteghe artigiane operasse manodopera di probabile origine orientale di cui sono testimonianza, oltre agli splendidi manufatti esposti al Museo di Antichità di Torino, i resti del santuario dedicato alle divinità orientali Iside e Serapide.
