Walk around the lake is like walking amidst nature. This place has monkeys. So one has to be very careful while walking. As they snatch away the food packets from your hand and maybe your mobile too.

Hauz Khas Complex in Hauz Khas, South Delhi houses a water tank, an Islamic seminary, a mosque, a tomb and pavilions built around an urbanized village with medieval history traced to the 13th century of Delhi Sultanate reign. It was part of Siri, the second medieval city of India of the Delhi Sultanate of Alauddin Khalji Dynasty (1296–1316).The etymology of the name Hauz Khas in Farsi is derived from the words ‘Hauz’: \water tank\ (or lake) and ‘Khas’: oyal\- the \Royal tank\. The large water tank or reservoir was first built by Allauddin Khilji (the plaque displayed at the site records this fact) to supply water to the inhabitants of Siri. The tank was de–silted during the reign of Firuz Shah Tughlaq (1351–88). Several buildings (Mosque and madrasa) and tombs were built overlooking the water tank or lake. Firuz Shah's tomb pivots the L–shaped building complex which overlooks the tank.

It's a good place for long walks , running and excercise , you can hangout with friends here, watch ducks in lake, rabbits, deer, monkeys ,open gym, swings and many gardens to sit . You can sit under big trees , take a look at fort and do your photography. This place also has skating ring and you can also take your pet here. Usually crowded on Sundays.

Beautiful scenic place to soothe your mind and soul amongst Delhi's hustle and bustle! You can visit the Hauz khas lake via the deer park but to enjoy the entire scene I would suggest going to the fort above and finding a peaceful spot as is evident from the picture!
