Haifa Memorial is a new addition to erstwhile Teen Murti. Having lived in Delhi for many years, even I was also not aware of the importance of this Three statue (Teen Murti) memorial. It was only after its renaming as 'Teen Murti Haifa Chowk' during the recent visit of Israeli PM that I became curious to know more about it. This memorial is built in the middle of a roundabout (Goal Chakkar) in from of the Nehru Memorial (also known as 'Teen Murti Bhawan). During the British rule when Turkey and allied forces captured Haifa, Jerusalem and Carmel heights, then British and allied forces were butchered by Turkey's forces, as they were strategically placed at higher points and had their fire power targeting the forces trying to reach those heights. It was then that brave Cavalry units of Mysore, Hyderabad and Jodhpur volunteered to take the risk and successfully defeated the Turkish forces. Three statutes have been placed here in the memory of these three brave Cavalry units.

Teen Murti Bhavan The Teen Murti Bhavan (Teen Murti House) is the former residence of the first Prime Minister of India, Jawaharlal Nehru in Delhi, India, who stayed here for 16 years until his death on May 27, 1964. It was designed by Robert Tor Russell, the British architect of Connaught Place and of the Eastern and Western Courts on Janpath during the British Raj. Teen Murti Bhavan was built in 1930 as part of the new imperial capital of India, New Delhi as the residence of the Commander-in-Chief of the British Indian Army.
