DO NOT RENT FROM THIS COMPANY!! cancelled our trip due to covid and their original cancellation policy was if you cancel within 48 hours or less you only get HALF of your refund which means if you give them MONTHS you should get FULL refund. However, this is not the case with this company. If too many people complain about their refund policy or expose them, they go and CHANGE their refund policy. It has now been changed but AFTER screwing all these people including myself. To anyone who needs the ORIGINAL refund policy for court, please contact me, I will GLADLY provide you with it.

NEVER RENT HERE We didn't sign any contract or nothing but paid in advance. We been told to wait for the car because for some reason it wasn't ready yet. Already suspicious right? Then we had urgent situation and had to change our plans so we didn't need the car anymore. We kindly asked the guy if it's possible and he said it won't be a problem to be refunded. Not having signed any agreement we felt confident about our refund. Ever since then noone is answering our mails, calls and they are not even in their office. They are avoiding us because we seen them trough the window but they didn't open the door or pick the phone up.
***BEWARE RENTING FROM THIS COMPANY ** They requested FULL rental amount to be paid to book the car rental and we did not have a problem with that but now I have requested several time for a full refund due to covid 19 and us canceling our trip MONTHS in advanced. The woman that we spoke to is Faial, some reason sao miguel gets transfered there to faial, she is very rude and hangs up the phone when we request to speak with the owner. She cant tell us what the code of law is, even though we already informed ourselves through a lawyer there. All she does is says that we are threatening her, no one qas threatening nobody. We just want what is right. Nothing in their website states that they do not give refunds. When we asked for a full refund, because our bookings are for June 2021, we were told they can only give us a voucher. We requested the same thing with Sata international for our flight we cancelled and they gave us they gave us the option for a voucher or full refund, we requested a full refund and the next day the money was refunded, no further questions. It is clear that this azorescar rent a car is taking advantage of tourists. We are talking 1200 . We have rented from so many other companies there and never...never had problems like this. If theres someone that could help us, that would be nice and greatly appreciated.
STAY AWAY. I’ve never been lied to more by a company. Do other reviews seem fake to you? They’re from people that work there. We had to wait several hours to get the car. They said so many lies about when it would be ready I lost count. What’s more, I have in writing that they agreed to take a day off of my reservation as I arrived in town the next day. They wouldn’t refund the money for the unused day, even in spite of the email exchange, and an employee giving me his word several times to fix this. I’d rather have walked the island than rent from them again. Take your business elsewhere and don’t look back. Absolute disgrace of a company.
They charged us for an extra day and for damage that didnt exist. According to them, every car is totalled, but only after you leave town. Expect to wait hours to get your car AFTER you show up to get it. PLEASE rent somewhere else
Do not rent from here. After spending the morning in the Emergency Room they made me wait for a long time. Then charged me for the time when I didnt even have the car in my possession. They were disrespectful, service was slow, and the car wasn't even ready when I went to pick it up late. Everyone I talked to made excuses and tried to pass off responsibilities to coworkers who were also useless, and made more excuses. Don't take them at their word, they will go back on it. Even after being horribly ill and in the hospital for half a day, this was the biggest waste of my time. Go somewhere else.
