Despite others reviews I had several good experiences with ilha Verde. Of course you need to read the contract you sign, but that's being an adult. For example, if the car is not cleaned inside you will have to pay a surplus (I believe it's 7 euros), but there is at a least one place 5 minutes far from the airport where you can vacuum the car (24/7). The cars given to me were always a good cleaned and perfectly functioning, and of course cheaper that the competitors. The guys at the desk can speak perfectly English and they are ready to help you

Everything was smooth. Deducting one star for 10 cleaning fee which is fair in terms of the overall price (Ilha Verde is not expensive when booked through Discovercars / Billiger Mietwagen), but still a deceptive practice. 1200-1500 hold on CC is completely normal. You need a proper CC and can authorize by signature instead of pin.

Thank you for finding a solution to return my cleaning deposit after quite a long email exchange. I am happy that you made this effort and I hope that you may be able to avoid “forgetting to return them to all the clients” if you incorporate it in the standard deposit. A very decent car rental company that almost has a monopoly on the island. Professional service, a fleet of brand new and well maintained cars, very competitively priced. On the downside, they charge an interior cleaning fee of 8 euro after the rental, unless you manage to keep the mats of your car free of ANY debris, which is downright impossible without renting a vacuum cleaner service just before the return.

They cancelled our reservation from booking.com when we arrived for pick-up. They demanded instead we book with them directly, and demanded more money from us for what we had already booked (and even more money if we wanted insurance on the car, because, by cancelling our reservation from booking.com, they also cancelled the insurance package we had purchased alongside on the website). Be careful.

There is a hidden mandatory cleaning fee of 10 they charge at the time of pick up, saying it will be returned if you completely clean the car (vacuum, wash) which is impossible to do when on holiday. Shame that this is not in the rental agreement when booking via Rentalcars.

Enjoy Bratislava

Beware ! Ilha Verde started to steal from clients this year: they charge a cleaning fee at the beginning of the rental and never give ot back, no matter the cleanliness of the car. I cleaned the car but I just had a few mosquitos/moths on the front from the 20 minutes night ride to the airport. I used to rent minibuses for my company, last time with you!
