This is an old favorite in San Miguel. It’s got a variety of pools, some with grottoes, plenty of space for large crowds, and a cute inexpensive restaurant. I usually spend the day going from pool to pool, or resting in the shade of some beautiful tree. The only reason for 4 stars and not five is that in the last month, several of the pools were too cold ! Are they trying to save money/water because of low attendance due to Covid??

The hot springs are soothing and relaxing for the tired traveler. I would recommend going during the weekday because it's less crowded. The entrance fee is 150 Mexican pesos (about 8 USD) and that gives you access to the pools and relaxing areas. There is a restaurant inside Escondido Place which is tasty and prices are cheap.

Its not a thermal water here. It looks and feels like just warm fresh pools. Ponds with fish are the most interesting thing here.

We went to Escondido Place as an alternative to La Gruta to try something different. Thinking they were the same sort of place we were sadly mistaken. Escondido place is bigger and has a lot more swimming pools although only one has thermal water. The hot springs are comprised of three small pools linked together and covered. There are no thermal waters outdoors. It is crowded even on a slow day during the pandemic and anything but relaxing. They allow children and even babies in the hot springs. The other pools are less than clean and swarming with screaming children. Their parents bring speakers and blare music. Even drunken singing. Relaxing by the pool isn’t an option. If you have a large family and want plenty of room to run and play this is the place for you. If you want to dip in an outdoor thermal pool without waiting in line to enjoy it and then relax I would suggest La Gruta.

Family friendly which means a lot of kids in the pool. So luke warm pee pool sounds like your fun day, this will be perfect for you
