We had a terrible experience trying to book an Innova for a 5 day trip and after much searching zeroed in on Siliguri Car Rental and lost a deposit that we paid before hiring this agency. Samrat, the owner, and Shyamal the driver were excellent. A great mix of professional, kind and empathetic service. A bad driver/experience especially in a highly congested tourist circuit is quite likely and given the information one can gather, it is classical case of asymmetric information where the customer is in a weaker position. And that too we travelled to offbeat locations like Kolakham, Dok Nara, Rishop, Neora Valley where roads were quite bad. Shyamal was most patient, and very sincere and at no point expressed any hostility or frustration even when we got stuck offroad by insisting that we visit an offbeat place in Pedong. We even changed our drop location from Bagdogra to Gangtok and Shymal easily obliged. Apart from being a thorough professional he is also a fun person to be around. You can definitely trust their service and a stress free experience.

It was the first week of May 2020. We had been stranded at Darjeling for over a month because of Covid lock-down. Though the government had permitted stranded people permission to travel to their homes, many taxi services refused to travel to Nagpur. The few who were ready were charging exorbitantly. That was when we chanced upon this taxi service. The service provider was completely professional in his behaviour. He kept his words to call us back and was punctual with time too. He intimated before hand when his phone would be switched off. When he finally arranged the drivers, his charge was very reasonable. Before departure one driver backed out, but the service provider promptly gave us a replacement driver. The main driver Mr Shyamal was an excellent driver and well mannered. Moreover, he took the risk of crossing 5 state borders to get us back to Nagpur knowing well that he may not be allowed to go back at one of the borders (which luckily didn't happen). We are indebted to Mr Shyamal and North Bengal & Sikkim Taxi Service. The excellent professional attitude of the service provider and the efficient and dependable driver, makes me completely confident to recommend this service at any time.
