A Public bicycle Sharing (PBS) system is introduced in Surat city by Surat Municipal Corporation (SMC). You can hire a bike from here and can ride it for free till 30 minutes and for 1 hour you have to pay just 5 Rupees.. this PBS system is started here and SMC office (Muglisara) in first phase..

Very good initiative by SMC to motivate the use of cycle instead of motor vehicles. Currently the only problem is that the App is little buggy. And it takes some time to unlock the cycle which is frustrating. Public response to chartered cycle is great. There is one station at Majura gate char rasta and if you go there after 9 PM , you will see empty stands so SMC will definately increase number of stations/stands in the city.

Very nice starts. In the app there is not available full stations list or map instead of nearest location station. Please give a full station list with map in app

They have a glitch in the app software. I wasted 40 min at their station in Surat. They don't take payment thru paytm or netbanking even though these options are available in their app. After maky payment of RS.300/- thru netbanking, my wallet balance indicated 0. Upon contacting customer care, they asked me to pay again but thru credit card. It seems they actually want only cash payment...

Its an excellent initiative from SMC inconsideration towards pollution as well as traffic jams .It will definitely help the health conscious people also.All bikes r imported ,with gears , GPS enabled . Fairs r reasonable .Docks r all good .. Only one thing is that for poor people it will be difficult to manage app through operations .some token type system is must. congratulations & Best wishes .Dr.Devang Patel ( surat cyclist grp )
