Almatierra exceeded our expectations! The service was excellent, and the food was incredible. We had a wonderful shrimp appetizer, and shared the beef stew and seared tuna. The complimentary bean and queso appetizer on a small tortilla was a pleasant surprise. We will definitely be back!

I feel bad being the first person to leave something other than 5 stars, but with 6 diners and the same # if waitstaff, service should NOT have been a problem. It was virtually impossible to get our waiter's attention throughout the meal. Out of Sauvignon Blanc, salad was served without 2 key ingredients, and soup was cold. Disappointing.

I’ll start by sharing a pair of unspoken truths; we all covet the place “the locals” visit; and we certainly value getting in on the ground floor of anything measurably good. Almatierra encompasses both. For starters, the house wines are natural/biodynamic (and deliciously nuanced). Avant-garde meets traditional Mexican cuisine with the “Rib-eye en Aguachile” starter. In the end, you’ll decide for yourself.
