On 16 May 2009, the league was started with 8 professional clubs. And now it has grown to 20 Clubs representing different regions across the Nation. The MNL was founded, not only by improving the level of Play, but also by disseminating the game in Myanmar. Totally we contested over 580 matches per season, which lasts from January to October in 8 States of Myanmar.
