Lovely local, warm and friendly. If your going through Brsfferton-Helperby then stop off for at least one! Food on Sundays too.

We had a very enjoyable evening in this country pub which served home cooked wholesome food,. The pies were quite large, excellent fresh vegetables perfectly cooked too full for a dessert although large dollop of Neapolitan ice cream bought back many memories. The décor was warm and tastefully done. Hosts were friendly, very welcoming and keen to make a go of this pub which they have not been in long. The chit chat around the bar with the locals also had a relaxed air about it. The Golden Lion is worth a visit we intend to go back.

Lovely pub. Very welcoming. Beer wasn't very well kept though. Good choice of spirits. Has Sky tv.
