I have used Eight Yards for kilt hire probably 15-20 times over the last decade or so, dealing with various members of staff on each occasion. Every rental has been without issue and each staff member has provided an excellent and professional service experience. When it was time to buy my own kilt outfit there was only one place I would even consider and that was Eight Yards. I made the initial purchase at the beginning of 2020 with plans for a May wedding which was cancelled due to COVID-19. Throughout the design and measuring phase I was reassuringly advised and tolerated despite changing my mind a few times. The actual creation of the outfit was delayed due to the pandemic but whenever I made contact I was met with prompt and informative correspondence which was comforting. When I was finally able to get married, I was presented with a stunning and very well-fitting outfit. As I put the finishing touches to the kilt that morning I was genuinely chuffed to bits with it. I've always been pleased with the kilt hire fitments but having your very own made-to-measure Eight Yards outfit is something very special indeed. The quality of materials, tailoring and range of choice is fantastic. A little part of me is sad now that I will no longer have so many opportunities to hire kilts from Eight Yards, Edinburgh. Over the years the friendly and warm welcome in-store has evolved into what feels like a genuine and valued customer-retailer experience. I guess I shall have to look out for occasional accessory purchases from time to time. Thank you to all for the great service and the supply of such a beautiful kilt from a long-term faithful customer.

We used 8 yards in Edinburgh to hire a kilt for our tiny elopement wedding in the middle of the pandemic. We received excellent customer service throughout, with everyone we spoke to being so knowledgeable and helpful. We were given great advice and ended up with a fantastic kilt outfit and matching shawl to suit our Scottish beach wedding! The staff made the whole process so simple and stress free. We would definitely recommend them to anyone looking to hire or buy a kilt.
Was in today, searching for So Solid products & arranged a time to visit. What a lovely place, served by the courteous & biddable Peter, who offered advice and favourites. Managed to purchase 2 items and hopefully more infuture. Id recommend a visit, clearly more to offer than kilt hire.
Received excellent service from 8 yards staff in Edinburgh. I came to buy a kilt for my wedding after having hired from them in the past. Staff were very friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. Great experience all around! Will definitely be going here for all my future kilt needs.
Having hired from the Haymarket shop several times over the last 2 decades. For some reason i decided to shop around to purchase an outfit for my wedding. I ended up buying a wonderful tailored outfit fro 8 yards with excellent advice along the way. I wish i'd went there first as it would have savdd me a bit of time.
We had everything made from scratch, the trews, jacket and waistcoat. From start to finish these guys were amazing, organising everything we wanted. The end result was outstanding, and I can’t thank them enough. The outfits for father and son will last a life time, and the whole experience certainly made it value for money. I would thoroughly recommend them all.
Bought my Kilt here after several good experiences hiring from here. The staff are always very friendly and helpful. I looked amazing in my Kilt at our wedding and I hope to have many excuses to wear it in the years to come! Highly recommended.
