Fabulous service within 2 days knitted me two Pom Pom blankets We’ve been waiting to visit the shop since we knew we were expecting but unfortunately Covid got in our way and we’ve only been able to have 2 days down in Porthmadog. Can’t wait to show our little girl off in her knitted all in one which bought as well beautiful quality and reasonable priced. Marian went above and beyond to ensure we had the blankets before we went home. Thank you from The Joneses

I visit A Good Start for wool whenever I get the chance-its well stocked with some quality brands (Katia, Bergere) and the staff give you the time and space to browse as well as provide advice if you need or want it. And to top it all theres a record shop just up the road from A Good Start so I can browse to my heart's content while my husband is flicking through vinyl! Would definitely recommend a visit! And, if you can't visit, contact the owner via FB as they are also sending orders out too!

I love this shop, I have had lots of help from the friendly staff team who are always willing to help with great advice choosing the right pattern and wool. I have attended the knitting club on a Tuesday evening which is always great fun and a good way to meet new people. This is modern forward thinking wool shop which also sells lovely children’s clothing. Thanks Marion and team for making knitting such fun!
