Outstanding service in a beautiful setting. The staff and Doctor were professional and polite. This was my first eye exam in more years than i care to share. My outcome was great and I credit everyone for making me feel like i mattered. The visit, frames and lenses were easily affordable. I highly recommend A1A Family Eyecare and VSP vision insurance.

After moving to the Jacksonville area from St. Augustine, I was happy to learn that my long time former eye doctor was affiliated with A1A as well. My first appointment at this location was terrible. I had a 4:30 appointment and did not leave until closing time (6). I was fine with the wait since I didn’t have anything else scheduled and most of the employees were friendly until it was time for them to close. Dr. Gebhard(?) seemed a little frazzled, but I’m use to this behavior from other situations so it didn’t bother me too much. During the contact lens training, an employee by the name of TARA rudely interrupted and stated “We close in 5 minutes, wrap it up or you’re gonna need to reschedule.” Her tone was extremely rude. Up until this point, I had ignored the long wait time, even though I came after an 10 hour work day and was still having a positive mindset. But I do not take kindly to unwarranted rudeness. I explained Taras behavior to the Doctor and it was brushed off as “Oh, she’s just having a bad day”. LOL won’t be back.

Worst experience ever at an eye care establishment. I was told that I had “really great insurance” and they completely maxed out my benefits. Waited over 2 months for my glasses and they claimed it was the lab’s fault. When they did finally come in they were obviously the wrong prescription. Tried to get them corrected and they realized that they couldn’t even read the doctor’s handwriting on the prescription. Horrible experience. Avoid this place and look elsewhere.
