What I like most about learning from Glen West is that he started by asking me where I wanted to go with the lessons. I was \self-taught\ for 20 years and was bored with where I was. I wanted to learn music theory and how it applies to the guitar. Glen started me down that path and what started out as a 2-month Christmas present has turned into 10 months. Glen knows music. He knows how to teach music. And he knows everything about the guitar. His teaching method has worked well for me. It is methodical, and every lesson has a specific point of theory, or a guitar technique/skill to learn, and usually both at the same time. Often, during the past months, we'd hit a good point for him to pause and ask, what's on your mind? Do you want to try something different? I appreciate that he was always tailoring our lessons to where I wanted to go. I wanted to be more of a musician and less of a copycat. Glen's teaching has helped me feel a lot more confident in my ability to play and to play along with others. He's helped me find joy in the guitar again, after 20 years of frustration.

After taking lessons from Glen West for a little over a year, I am able to make serious contributions to my church praise and worship team. Through Glen I have been able to develop my own style of playing that is different than other guitar players I meet. Glen’s instruction is more than learning basic chords, the pentatonic minor scale, and Smoke on the Water. Along with the guitar, Glen West teaches music theory. Now when I look at the guitar I see chords up and down the fret board with many musical possibilities. If you are serious about learning the guitar I highly recommend taking lessons from Glen West.
Glen West is a Musician, Songwriter, Music Theory Instructor, Mentor and a great person. He's essentially a Jedi Master in his ways of teaching music, most certainly on guitar. I myself have learned more in just under a year with Glen than I have on my own and with other instructors in the last ten years. Glen will set you on the \Path\ to opening up creativity and tailor lessons to your skill level. Anyone can play a guitar, but if you want to write your own music and enjoy learning then A2G Sharp is the place to be. I've enjoyed every moment of my Path to guitar playing. I can easily say wholeheartedly that as soon as work and travel permit, that I would love to take more lessons with Glen.
By far the most knowledgeable teacher I've ever had. He takes time to get to know his students and puts them at fast but reasonable pace. I was doing and creating things within weeks that I never had before with 7 years previous experience. Without a doubt the best out there.
Every Saturday morning or at the beginning, Tuesday and Thursday afternoons, I looked forward to the lessons. Glen is an amazing guitar teacher who teaches you what you want to learn but also what you have to learn. Without him, I would probably still suck at every aspect of guitar. But now, I can play better and can write good, solid riffs. After that year and half of lessons I can truly say Glen is the best teacher and I will miss the lessons dearly.
