This place has great history! The staff were very professional, the service is good. They are definitely not super friendly but it's really not necessary cos they rock what they do. We ordered a beer and tea which arrived promptly. The waitress was really cool about me taking my time to read the whole menu before deciding. My companion had already chosen outside from one of the two boards with the days specials. I started with a tomato and mozzarella salad. It could have done with a bit more basil. The mozzarella was yr restaurant mediocre standard and the tomatoes had been chosen for their size rather than flavour but it looked spectacular and in wonderful German fashion the salad with it was really good - basically the same as in the side salad that accompanied my companion's main course except that also contained red cabbage and a slice of cucumber; grated carrot, sweetcorn kernals, lollo rosso, seedling sprouts (not Brussels). The dressings were different too. Mine was with balsamic vinegar and the other was sweet n creamy. The main courses were everything you come n eat out in Germany for. Mine was sausages and black pudding and a gammon steak, served with sauerkraut (cooked with onions and bacon!), I had fried potatoes (also with bacon and onions!) instead of the mash offered served with a generous bowl of mustard. The other meal was a mountain of fried potatoes (like mine) and a juicy, tender pork (back??) steak with fried mushrooms and onions. The total under 50! Friendlier would have been an extra star but it's worth going without it!!

Schnitzel with mushroom sauce was excellent! Our waitress, Silke, was outstanding, and stayed on top of everyone’s needs.

Very good 'Brauhaus'. Food was on excellent level. You can order fish or beef, pork or vegetarian. As starters you can order soup or salad. Dessert can be Ice-cream or other sweet. The "Goldene Einhorn" is known for its very good draft beer. The interior is cozy and typical for a Brauhaus.

Lovely old place overlooking the cathedral. 5 tap beer choices. Come here for the view, not for the beer choice
