Exploring more local based eating establishments we came across Aamchi Mumbai. First impression were good as the place looks very big with an outside area. Good parking and on stepping indoors we were welcomed straight away. We ordered 3 starters to share which were very tasty. The onion bhajis were particularly impressive. Quick point here, if you are having that many starters I highly recommend sharing a main as we couldn’t finish our individual mains. Friendly staff, efficient service and beautiful food are a winning combination so we will definitely come here again.

I had been to the Cheadle restaurant yesterday. I must say the ambience is very good. We started off with poppadoms (so foolish thought it was a compliment) but realised it was charged and pricey too. The poppadoms were authentic and no compromise in the taste. We then ordered Lamb chops which is the best I have had so far, a must try and Chicken lollipop (felt the chicken legs were dipped in bread and batter and fried) is not great, more oil and pricey too, but loved the chutney anyway. Again comes the sev poori, fell in love with it, was yum. Finally the mains, paneer sizzler, it was good but the taste of the sauce on the paneer was very different from what we usually have in India. With the Chicken biriyani, my husband is not a great fan of basmati rice and he felt the taste wasn’t the same back in India. Not to mention, the Cobra beer and Mojito tops the list. Overall feedback - Good food but less quantity and pricey, great ambience with classic Hindi songs at the background and a request to inform customers that poppadoms are not a compliment as in most restaurants in India, poppadoms are given free as a sign of our generosity and culture (not that I cannot pay btw)

Very fast service, the mood is really nice, with subtle Indian music. Parking can be an issue though. The food was really nice. You get authentic metal plates and it all feels really cultural.

Amazing staff... Amazing ambience. Amazing food. The food here went a bit low on my ratings once earlier... But they have picked it up again. Loved and enjoyed every bit of my dinner here
