A bit oldish but for the price, it’s really good. Nice view on the lake, large rooms, free coffee, lot of space, and good bath (but no rotenburo).
The place is old. Window is facing the lake, nice view. Room is reasonably big for a family of 4.
The smallest in-room bathroom is compensated by an excellent SPA and Onsen, located at the hall end of 3F (men) and 5F (women), both with outdoor termal basins and a nice view over the Abashiri lake. Tatami layout rooms only. Wide, tasty and fresh selection for breakfast.
The rooms are massive which is great, but the location isn't great. During the winter there are only 4 to 5 buses to the hotel. The hotel is around a 10 minute drive which is fine however, if you miss the bus you will have to get a taxi there which costs 1750 one way. It would take you around 1 hour to walk to the hotel during winter. Also there are no shops or restaurants nearby so if you don't have breakfast or dinner at the hotel you will be forced to head back into the city centre to eat. If you have to make 2-4 taxi journeys a day, the cost will soon add up.
Location: Right in front of Abashiri Lake. Though no activity at the lake around the time we visited (late June). Property: The hotel rooms we stayed at were Japanese rooms which accommodates 2 futons. The rooms give a feeling of being old (not revamped). The bathrooms are small and ill equipped. The air conditioner remote in one of the rooms was difficult to operate. Ofuro/Public bath: The public bath (at-least men’s) is quite nice and is only closed for a few hours for cleaning. It is available for the guests to use freely. Breakfast: Decent though menu didn’t vary across 3 days we stayed over. Staff: Mixed bag.
Room is clean and spacious for a Japanese style futon. Hotel was located away from the abashiri busy area. Nothing much surrounding the hotel except a stunning lake. Would be suitable if you are driving. Room view is facing the lake. Decent breakfast and Onsen.
May be a little bit out of way, but I would highly recommend the dinner . You need to arrange with the hotel in advance
