Aberdeen Harbour was first established as a business in 1136 by King David with a history that has spanned almost 900 years. Over that period the harbour has evolved enormously to meet the challenges of world events in its transformation into a modern, state-of-the-art harbour facility. That harbour transformation continues apace into 2020 with the 350m expansion at South Harbour where a total of 22 caissons will be used to construct the fixed new quay areas of South Harbour. This will provide heavy-lift capacity, and significantly reduce the amount of concrete required in the construction phase.

Nice place to watch the boats, often see seals too. Lovely part of Aberdeen
Nice place for a walk or to watch the ships in and out of the harbor.
Sat in the car at Footdee having lunch and watching the boats go out to sea. Busy harbour lots going on but Footdee is well worth a visit.
Amazing harbour with history. There are benches located where you can sit and observe ships.
