I rented a storage unit for nearly a year and half with Ace Self Storage. I had a hole in my unit I requested to be fixed more than 3 times, never happened. Able to pay by phone, able to access after hours via gate code. They increased the rate at least one time. However, upon loading up my stuff to empty my storage unit (01/23/16), I couldn't get my key to work. We went to the front desk to ask for assistance. The man came out and told us we had the wrong key. I told him I had been there at Thanksgiving and used that key to open the unit. He told me there is no way I opened the storage unit with that key. I insisted I did and he kept repeating there is no way I did this. He offered to cut the lock for 30, but told me he was only going to be there for 15 more minutes and then leave for the day (1140 on a Saturday). He told us we needed to decide now. I told him we would try to figure something else out, at which time he climbed into his truck and peeled out. Literally squealed the tires. We continued to work on the lock, rocking the key back and forth (lock appears to be rusted) and got the key in and were able to open our unit. The man came back 15 minutes later, rolled his window halfway and asked if we wanted the lock cut. I informed him we got it open (the door was obviously open at this time) with the key we had. He nodded his head and peeled out again. Absolutely atrocious customer service from this man. Rather than offer to help or provide actual customer service, this man was more worried about leaving on time for the day and making an additional 30. If you can find somewhere else to rent in Lawrence, do that. This place doesn't care about their customers.

Great staff and very helpful! Helped me when I was down on my luck. Very accomidating to life's hicups. Highly reccomended if you need a storage unit!

Confusing to find with the bail bonds place, but they were friendly and helpful.

Raising rent by 10 on all units. Units leak. Take your stuff elsewhere. If you happen to be late, they threaten to charge an inventory fee, sell your possessions, immediately after being late. Do Not Rent Here!
