The ambience gives a local feel. The fish is fresh. The taste is okay. We are regular fish eaters at home and prepare better than the hotel one. For beginners it is very good.

For the uninitiated into the traditional fish meal. The food is served on banana leaf and has to be enjoyed with hands. The place is always a buzz and there is probably one server that can help Hindi speakers. Btw.. there is a paan stall just outside if you need to calm the palate and stomach after the spice fest. Value for money, but interiors are very basic.
Best sea food eatery in Udupi. Value for money. It will be a banana leaf meal. They will ask your preference of rice weather boiled or white and then they will bring you a platter with an array of fish fry. You can either choose from it or ask them to get you a fish of your own choice and making. You also get butter milk. The food served is tasty. More so if you happen to wait in the long queue, sometimes. There is ample space for car park beside the hotel. Highly recommended.
Value for money. Normal place kinda glorified a lot on YouTube channels. Don’t get me wrong they make good fish tawa fries and is decently priced. Don’t expect great ambience while dining there. They also have another nearby dining hall opened part of the same restaurant.

If you love to eat fish don't go anywhere come to thimmappa. That's my recommendation. Simple home made fish recipes, fresh fish from the sea, served with love. A experience you will just enjoy. Owners, staff and the experience is 1st class. Enjoy your meal. God bless the soul of the founding father of this place Mr. Thimmappa.
Karavali style sea food at its best. These guys ensure their best effort to keep their 50 year old cooking tradition intact to serve the food that close to it's authentic version. The food is healthy and the weather helps you digest it quite easily. One can binge without having to bother about adding those extra calories or toxins. They have that open kitchen to let you have first hand look at their cooking practices. I love the unpolished boiled rice served as part of meals. This will be my go-to place to enjoy lunch and dinner in my upcoming visits to the city.
