it's a place for tourists. no locals go there. very nice view. not the most authentic sicilian food, if u complain seafood is not fresh but frozen, well they state that in the menu so read it well before whining. professional service. food average, the grilled orata was good enough (farm raised not wild caught)

The food was really good, prices are great as well. Service was good with friendly waitstaff but it took a while to get our food. Mine and my boyfriends meal also came at different times (he was half way done his when mine came).

The best pizza in the world no dice As a food and beverage professional I have spent the last 30 years exploring the cuisines globally both in my work and privately. Pizza is arguably the world's most popular comfort food and it certainly ranks high for me when looking for something simple, easy and delicious. As such, I am very particular about my pizza and have only encountered a few places on this earth that had a lasting impression on me. Amongst those count 400 gradi in Melbourne, Rubirosa in NYC and Kronvalls Castle in Sweden. During my numerous travels in Italy during the last 30 years, I have unfortunately never had a good pizza in spite of numerous attempts in Piemonte, Verona, Lombardia, Liguria, Emilia Romagna, Toscana and Campaina. That is until I entered Kokalos. The restaurant came recommended by our AirBnB host. The restaurant is in fact out in a remote countryside location overlooking the valley of the temples and you will need wheels to get there. It was packed by locals when we arrived and a majority had pizza, which we found odd as it was a friday night and the menu was expansive containing a lot of \proper\ secondi. So we ordered a simple anchovis pizza, which we always do. At the first bite, the sensation was overwhealming. Never had I had a pizza with such a perfect combination of a crusty pie, a tomato sauce which was rich and aromatic and perfectly blended spices and toppings. It was the pizza of my life and everything pails in comparison. We broke of with our longstanding of not visiting the same restaurant twice in a row and it was equally fantastic the day after. Coming to Naples after this was such a disappointment as their style is dramatically different from the Sicilian way; soft bread a lot of fat and literally no taste at all. I understand this is my personal opinion but in either case, if you seek an extraordinary restaurant experience, this is the one as the views and service are equally spectacular, well almost

Nice view, quick service and really nothing more. The pasta was Ok but we came there for a pizz but we were in a lunch time (before 15) and it was not possible to order pizza - apparently pizza can be ordered only for dinner. The waiter was nice. Coperto is 2 euro per person but we did not get any bread or grissini (while other guests did). However we received a big beer for a price of the small one as they did not have the small one as we like - that is a small plus.
