We recently (Jan 2021) booked a flight with AA from London Heathrow to JFK and we're VERY disappointed and dissatisfied with how the airline seated us. We followed all of the pre-flight/flight requirements including a COVID antigen tests, masks, social distancing, etc. When we boarded, two of my family members were seated next to people from other families! In other words, AA completely ignored all of their policies (or do they have policies?) and put them 2 inches from others fo an 8 hr flight! Unbelievable! To add insult to injury, the flight attendants were rude and condescending. One actually said (a quote) \we have assigned seating this isn't Southwest\. The flight was less than 50% capacity but we were all put together. Then when we were asked if we could social distance and si in the row in front of us (which wasn't anything special like bulkhead, etc) they said that that row was upgraded seating. Then they put other people there! Just an all around terrible experience. We really didn't like being disregarded and made to feel shamed.
