少しの石垣、土塁、曲輪が残っています。 見学するのに手頃な規模で、30分もあれば見学できます。周囲の歩いて５分くらいのところに内部公開してる武家屋敷があるので時間があれば見学するのも良いかもしれません。 博物館は、休みで見学できませんでした。 博物館や周囲の散策を含めると所要２時間位でしょうか。博物館の裏に数台の無料駐車スペース有りです。
土佐藩主山内家の重臣五藤家の城館があったところです。五藤家の館は安芸屋敷と呼ばれ、現存する主屋・事務所・離れ・付属屋・納屋・物置・板塀が国の重要文化財です。
小ぶりの城ですが、正面には立派な水堀に枡形虎口が築かれています。 山上の城自体は結構古く、鎌倉時代の延慶元年（1308）、安芸親氏によって築かれました。戦国時代の永禄12年（1569）7月長宗我部元親に攻められ包囲される。籠城は24日に及び落城しました。 その後、土佐に入封した山内一豊の家老五藤氏が居住し現在残っている枡形虎口等が整備されたようです。
2017年9月に訪問。 無料で誰でも入れます。 天守はないですが、土塁などはしっかり残っています。
3回目の訪問ですが城山へは初めて登りました。
今の季節は、お堀の白蓮がきれいです。
パンフがかっこよくて、国虎っていう感じ。後藤家屋敷跡では、丁寧に色々と教えて頂きました。 安芸氏の居城。後藤為重が配されてからは、一国一城令こら逃れる為、城ではなく「土居」としたそうです。安芸市歴史民族資料館や書道美術館もあります。
