I am a product of this department. It's not the best department in the world but it's unique in its entirety. Unlike public opinion, food science and technology is NOT about cooking. In a concise summary, it deals with chemical, biological and physical composition of food i.e. the science and technology behind food as it concerns preservation, processing, packaging, laws, marketing and consumption.
