The company started as a small trading and contracting business in 1978 as Top-Ola Progressive Enterprises in the northern Nigeria city of Kaduna. It has grown over the years diversifying into different sectors of the economy. Top-Olax Ltd is a highly diversified company comprising divisions in Agribusiness, Technology and Engineering services (Building and construction). The founder, Late High Chief Samuel Olagoke Olutuyi started out trading and contracting while still being employed by a foreign company in Kaduna. He resigned from employment in 1991 to concentrate on his own company. Top-Olax Nigeria Ltd was incorporated in 1991 under the Company and Allied Matters Act. Over the years the, company transformed from, a trading and contracting company to agribusiness, engineering and technology outfit. It has also transformed from a solely family business to a company with diverse shareholders and professionals. The company has a vision of providing solutions and becoming a leader in its area of services.
