I am so glad my husband and I decided to take our birthing class at the Family Life Center. After attending other classes (childcare, breastfeeding etc) at both Albany Med, St. Peter's, I can say for sure that the FLC offers the most comprehensive and empowering curriculum. We entered the class as nervous newbies, overwhelmed and frankly terrified. We left the class feeling truly excited for birth. Jess's teaching style was warm and empowering and we felt confident and prepared with all the information she provided. Everything we learned at the FLC was fully evidence-based, but framed from the perspective of birth as a joyful and natural experience, which was exactly what I was looking for! I would highly, highly recommend this class to any first time birthing person!

Really useful, informative and empowering all-day birth class with Jess.
I started my experience with the Family Life Center taking a 2-day active birth class with Jessica. The class was so incredibly helpful. My husband and I both left feeling we were on the same page concerning the type of birth experience we wanted and knew how to work towards it. By the end of the class we had asked Jessica to be our doula and thankfully her and Rose were available! Before the birth of my daughter, Jess and Rose were always available and happy to answer any questions or address any concerns I had. Having Rose with me during my birth was so vital to having the natural experience I had really hoped for. She helped with comfort measures but also made sure my husband was a huge part of my experience. Following my daughter's birth, both Rose and Jess helped me with emotional and physical challenges that come with being a new mom. I cannot say enough about the value of the Family Life Center and my doulas, Jess and Rose. They helped me feel empowered and have a positive birth experience!
