Brilliant area of outstanding natural beauty. Head up and out the back of the buildings and up the path to over 1280 meters and enjoy the stunning views. We also spotted a few Ibex. To say its deserted and nothing much open here......well I don't know what you wanted....a Starbucks?

Was probably a lovely place to come years ago. Was deserted & nothing open
Well worth the trip, beautiful location, dramatic scenery. Ideal for a picnic. Saw some unusual birds.
The road leading up to this place is a little rough and challenging, but the views along the way are gorgeous. Beautiful area at the top, with picnic tables and facilities. The hiking trails and walking paths are a delightful exercise. Great natural place to enjoy with the family.
A truly breathtaking place. Definitely worth a drive up if you find yourself near Alcaucín and you are OK driving on narrow single-track unpaved roads. We went at a weekend in July and there was hardly anyone there, even at the Rio restaurant. Lots of beautiful flora and fauna to see, and a couple of achievable trails for younger kids. Loads of picnic tables. Toilets limited but present. WARNING : the play area at the top car park is decrepit. Parents must check the condition before allowing kids to play!
