معهد الدراسات العليا والبحوث التابع إلى جامعة الإسكندرية في محافظة الإسكندرية حيث تم انشاءه في عام 1983. يحتوي المعهد على أربعة أقسام وهي قسم الدراسات البيئية، وقسم علوم المواد، وقسم التكنولوجيا الحيوية، وقسم تكنولوجيا المعلومات ويختص المعهد بتدريس طلبة الدراسات العليا (الماجستير والدكتوراه في التخصصات المذكورة أعلاه)، ومن ضمن مهامه أيضا وحسب ما ذكر في موقعهم الاكتروني هي (ربط البرامج الدراسية بالمعهد باحتياجات المجتمع ومتطلباته. ربط عملية البحث العلمي بمشكلات المجتمع والقطاعات الإنتاجية والخدمية. المساهمة في رفع الوعي للأفراد المجتمع بأهم المشكلات المجتمعية وكيفية المشاركة في حل تلك المشكلات) .
