The Zohour Al Haya organisation is the sole NGO in Egypt that hosts, supports and provides accommodation for orphan and street children with learning difficulties. This is a group of children that surpasses 8 million in number, encompassing areas of very low socio-economic status and extreme poverty. We are concerned with the children's full rehabilitation ranging from social to cognitive enhancement, whilst reducing prejudice and stigmas pertaining to such individuals. We work to advocate and defend the rights of these children and to improve mental health care services in poorer communities. We currently host in excess of 120 children but we hope to increase this number in the coming years. With your help, we could see not only a change for these children, but in the way the country treats and acts towards them.
