The Hall was named after the well-known freedom fighter and first lady Governor of a state in Independence India, Mrs. Sarojini Naidu. After her name Sarojini Naidu Hall was established in 1970, with the aim of providing accommodation to the girls studying in Aligarh Muslim University. It consists of the main S.N. Hall building and five Annexes namely:-
Main Hall - 385
P.G. Hostel - 66
Moin-ul-Haq Hostel - 58
Nurses Hostel - 103
RCA Hostel - 102
In Main Hall there are Common Room, Kitchen, Dining Hall, Reading Room (Ground Floor) & (First Floor), Computer Room, Badminton Court & Basket Ball ground. There are also Dining Hall, Computer Room, Reading Room and Common Room for P.G., Moin-ul-Haq, Nurses Hostel and RCA Hostel.
In this session a dormitory has been estabished in Nurses Hostel.
Around 714 girls of different courses i.e. MBBS, BDS, MD, MS, P.G. Diploma Medical, M.Sc. (Industrual Chemistry), M.Sc. (Polymer Science & Technology), Professional Courses, Diploma in Nursing, B.E., M.Tech., Diploma Courses (Women s and Boy s Polytechnic), BPED, MPED, M.Sc. (Biotechnology), Ph.D, M.Phil, are staying in S.N. Hall and its Annexes. Due to increase in intake in different course, there is accommodation crises.
