This plant has been here for decades. Blame IRVINE for zoning RESIDENTIAL property next to the plant. As someone who used to dispatch for yellow cab, I know that there used to be no housing north of Irvine Blvd, but now they have houses almost built next to the plant. You can't get upset at a plant that has a right to be here. Sue the realtors, sue the land developers, but more of all SUE IRVINE.

Been working out of that plant for over 20 years, Irvine sure has changed. By the way No Trespassing, it's a private road and not a safe place to go for a bike ride or walk.
why did they approve a residential development within a mile from an asphalt company and why did you homeowners buy there? Buyer beware. The problem here is that CEQA covers the impact of a project on surrounding properties and not vice versa. If they did look at the surrounding polluters the air studies in the EIR at the time probably showed no exceedances of any applicable standard. The problem with odors is that often times the contaminants of concern are relatively low despite the intensity of the odor. Asphalt is a complex mixture of compounds so good look with the testing. But perhaps the project was going to get approved no matter what.
Strong smell everyday. Should move to other location far from residential area.
Often release asphalt fumes during the wee hours. We have to close our windows at night which robs the joy of living in our beloved Communities.
